| Retrofit Story
This property is a Top floor flat of a end terrace house in Hackney. The young couple client wanted to improve and stay in their much loved community and grow a family life with a baby. The brief was to make the existing tiny second bedroom into a proper size single room, as well as creating a open layout Kitchen/Dining/Living space.
At 1st floor level, existing middle partition wall was removed and a new contemporary glass extension was added into the existing rear balcony space.
At 2nd floor level, the existing bathroom with no natural light/window was remodeled into a narrow(W=920mm) and long bathroom with a electric velux roof window at the back end with a Japanese style deep mini bathtub that provides both bathing and dairy shower functions within the limited amount of space. The entire bathroom space was painted/tiled in dark grey colour together with dark-tinted mirror ceiling, which creates a narrow yet uniquely spacious and intimate bathroom to be enjoyed.
